Dan Prince

As the founder and President of Catalyst Healthcare Research, Dan Prince has spent the last two decades drawing on an extensive mix of marketing and research experience to build one of the southeast’s most trusted market research firms. In a constantly shifting business environment, he’s managed to position CHR consistently on the leading edge, keeping abreast of evolving technologies and methodologies while staying focused on and truly passionate about a set of five time-tested values.

“For me, it’s been all about integrity, perseverance and really taking care of clients,” he says. “We’ve been able to provide state-of-the-art research and incredibly great service to our clients, and some of those relationships have lasted over a decade. It’s been remarkable.”

Highly skilled as a research designer, focus group moderator, and as an interpreter and presenter of research results, Dan brings intense focus and a personal touch to every project, digging deep and moving things forward.

“On any management team, everyone has their own voice and opinion, so it can be difficult to come to a consensus,” he says. “We provide the authentic ‘voice of the customer,’ so our clients can make a more informed decision. Then, good things happen.”

When he’s not helping companies make progress, you’re likely to find Dan spending time traveling with his wife, Barbara, or perhaps hitting the tennis court, sampling some Southern barbecue or just curling up with a good mystery.

David Butler
Vice President

David Butler brings two decades of experience and innovation to his position as Vice President at Catalyst Healthcare Research, but his knack for numbers goes back a lot farther than that.

“I have always had a quantitative orientation,” he says. “I was the kind of kid who was interested in batting averages, lineups, and all that stuff. I love this job, because it’s a perfect dovetail of my interests and my abilities.”

Educated at Indiana University and Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management, David’s deep expertise and inventive research style have earned him industry awards and an uncommon level of respect and loyalty from clients and colleagues alike.

Whether he’s designing, analyzing and reporting customer satisfaction studies, conducting new product research, voice-of-the-customer research, or strategy research, David approaches each project with the passion and enthusiasm of someone who knows he’s exactly where he was meant to be. And the results speak for themselves.

Away from work, you’ll find David catching a game (he remains a huge IU basketball fan), visiting baseball stadiums, traveling internationally, or spending time with his two beautiful daughters, Ellie and Anna.

Simon Lynn
Research Director

Simon Lynn brings a potent blend of education and experience, a naturally curious intellect, and a part-time percussionist’s perfect timing to his position as Research Director for Catalyst Healthcare Research.

Hailing from the small town of Westmoreland, Tennessee, just south of the Kentucky border, Simon was a musical kid from the start. In high school, he split his leisure time between marching band and his own garage band, performing with both around the area.

Starting his college career as a Recording Industry Management major at Middle Tennessee State University seemed like a natural move, but things soon took a different turn.

“I realized I wanted to broaden my horizons and gain a more well-rounded skill set,” he says. “I chose sociology, because I wanted to understand more about how society and social groups work. You don’t get very far into that before you see that research is the foundation of social science.”

Simon went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology.

Following his formal education, Simon gained a professional foothold working as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University.  In a subsequent role as Research Manager for a Nashville-based consumer electronics company, he extended this experience to include market research and consumer insights.

At CHR, his day-to-day work includes selecting the right research tools to employ for a particular project, data analysis, and preparation of reports. Come the weekend, you’ll likely find Simon playing music and spending time with his wife and daughter around Nashville.

While his music provides a creative release, Simon gets a bit more serious when the subject turns to his role as Research Director for Catalyst Healthcare Research.

“At its core, healthcare is about improving lives,” he says. “My position here at CHR presents a unique opportunity to apply my skills in a way that drives business for the client, but also benefits the consumer in a very personal way.”

Hannah Griffith
Research Associate

With a broad-based education and a passion for the positive power of data and research, Hannah Griffith makes full use of her wide-ranging skill set in her position as Research Associate at Catalyst Healthcare Research.

Prior to joining the CHR team, Hannah spent time at one of Nashville’s premier advertising agencies, DVL Seigenthaler, learning the ropes as an assistant media buyer. While she loved the professional and people aspects of agency life, she longed to be closer to the action.
“I went into media buying because I love research,” she says. “Here at CHR, I get to see things from the proposal all the way to the finish. I really like seeing every step of the process and then seeing the results.”

Hannah attended Middle Tennessee State University, earning a B.S. in Mass Communication, with a concentration in Advertising.

“The program at MTSU included some graphic design, copywriting, the business side of things, and research,” she says. “It allowed me to get a good feel for all of it and decide what I wanted to do.”

Her upbeat, results-oriented attitude serves Hannah well as she does “a bit of everything” at CHR, from assisting with data collection to working on both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Once the data has been gathered, Hannah helps with the final reports, utilizing her visualization, editing, and proofreading skills in the process.

When she’s not at work, Hannah enjoys pop culture (she’s the queen of trivia), listening to NPR, and squeezing in a healthy dose of physical activity.

“I’ve been playing in an adult kickball league, but I’m a bit accident prone,” she admits. “I recently broke two of my fingers, so I’ll be taking a break for a while!”
